Spencer was a third generation Zimbabwean, born in 1946 in Bulawayo. He emerged from Bulawayo Technical College as an Electrical Technician. His short story is a chapter from his unpublished novel Zimbabwean Odyssey. Sadly Spencer died after training for the priesthood.
